Qeynos is one of the largest cities in all of Norrath, and one of the two large coastal cities run by the Humans. It is also a starting city choice for Humans and Half Elves. The docks of the city, located in South Qeynos, provide trade from Qeynos to Erudin home of the Erudites, as well as to other areas along the coast. The Guards of Qeynos command posts throughout the surrounding terrain, providing protection to travellers as far away as the Plains of Karana. All professions which accept humans have guild halls present or nearby. There is a seamy underbelly to this city, like other port cities, and rumors of corruption and smuggling as well as unsavory street dwellers are a part of everyday life here. There are many (some say too many) drinking establishments within the high walls of the city. Qeynos is divided into three zones: North Qeynos, South Qeynos, and Qeynos Catacombs.
North Qeynos is where the main gate of the city lies and leads out into the Qeynos Hills. A number of guild halls are located in this portion of the city, such as the Silent Fist Clan (Monk), the Temple of Rodcet Nife (Cleric and Paladin), and the secretive Circle of Unseen Hands (Rogue). North Qeynos also holds two secret entrances into the Qeynos Catacombs, which is the sewerlike underbelly of the city, as well as two entrances into South Qeynos and the Plane of Knowledge Book.
Travelling To and From North QeynosEdit
North Qeynos can easily be reached from Erudin by taking a ship to the South Qeynos docks and following the city streets until you reach one of the two entrances into North Qeynos.
However, reaching North Qeynos by land is quite a task since the city is nearly cut off from all other civilizations in Norrath. The only real way to travel to North Qeynos is to go west through the plains of Karana. The tired traveller will eventually come to the Qeynos Hills if they contiued following the paths of Karana west while avoiding the numerous amounts of Bandits, Lions, Hill Giants, Griffins, and other deadly enemies. The Qeynos Hills are a relaxing godsend after passing through the Karanas, and one just needs to follow the path to the fork in the road and turn south (left) at it, heading North (right) at the fork will lead you to the Surfall Glade, which is also a nice place to visit. North Qeynos is a short sprint away after that.
