The Mines of Gloomingdeep can easily be remembered as a mysterious subterranian quarry. The entire area is littered with mining supplies, broken crates, and kobold corpses. The mine has narrow hallways between large rooms often with stagnent waters, and rodents.

The entire area is filled with deadly Kobolds and ferocious Goblins. Neither of these creatures will think twice about ripping you apart, and can do this quite easily if you are low level. There are also numerous amounts of spiders that skitter about, but they are not much of a threat unless you are poisoned by their queen.

The northern section of The Mines of Gloomingdeep holds prisoner slaves that you must rescue! The main room you start in after the instanced quest has a friendly kobold npc by the name of Wijdan, who will buy your excess items, or even sell you fishing supplies!

There are many real benefits that this zone provide beyond its proximity to Crescent Reach. Between the fast paced questing and hordes of other new players to group with to obtain meaningful loot, The Mines of Gloomingdeep as a tutorial is as fun and rewarding as any other starting zone.

Travelling To and From The Mines of GloomingdeepEdit

To get there couldn't be easier, it is defaulted when you start your new character (provided the expansion is activated), but if you are low enough level you may enter the tutorial as an option also from the charcter creation screen. The exit from The Mines of Gloomingdeep is one way and to Crescent Reach (provided the expansion is activated), another good zone for a newly beginning player.

Once inside The Mines of Gloomingdeep, you can leave at any time by simply walking out the exit between the small group of kobold infiltrators and the corpse summoner. Or you can do the Gloomingdeep Mines Timeline and leave about level 10 with mostly crude defiant quality gear.
